Mode of Learning: Presentation, Group Discussions/Activity and Simulation
Methodology: Group Activities, Tabletop Simulation, Post-class surveys
Target Audience
Southeast Asia National Societies leaders and managers from operational and technical backgrounds working across all departments/divisions
Decision makers responsible for overall strategy development for programmatic and operational response during an outbreak
Course Syllabus
Day 1: Public Health Emergency Preparedness
● Overview of Lessons Learned (Drawn from the CoEPP and World Disaster Report)
● Origins: Introduction to Infectious Diseases + Noteworthy diseases in Asia
● Spread: Disaster Epidemiology (Early detection, One Health) + Multi-Hazard Approach to Disasters
Day 2: Leadership during a health crisis
● Psychosocial Support in a Pandemic
● Leadership communication in times of uncertainty
● Advocacy and regulations in a public health emergency
Day 3: Strategic adaptation in times of pandemic + Tabletop Simulation
● Foresight, Insight, and Strategy
● Resource Mobilization during a Pandemic
