Singapore has introduced an updated Pandemic Preparedness and Response Framework, which replaces the 2014 plan that was centred mainly on influenza. The new framework takes a broader, disease-agnostic approach, aiming to strengthen readiness for both familiar and emerging infectious disease threats. The framework is also aligned with World Health Organization guidance and international best practices, supporting consistency with wider global public health efforts.
For the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, this framework offers a reference point on how pandemic planning can be made more flexible and adaptable to different disease scenarios and national contexts.
