A Year in Recap for Southeast Asia

The Centre of Excellence for Pandemic Preparedness (CoEPP) brings together humanitarian, public health and technical partners to strengthen pandemic preparedness across the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

2025 was an important year for CoEPP - a year of reflection, collaboration and shaping our direction for the years ahead. The Year in Review is a reflection of a collective journey. CoEPP’s work and direction are shaped together with SEA RCRC National Societies, recognising that pandemic preparedness is a shared regional responsibility and that meaningful preparedness must be grounded in the experiences and priorities of the region.

Through this engagement, CoEPP and SEA RCRC National Societies co-developed the 2025–2027 work plan, setting a shared direction for the Centre’s next phase. At the same time, 2025 saw CoEPP take on new areas of work, broaden its partnerships and strengthen its role as a regional platform for pandemic preparedness.

  Shaping CoEPP’s 2025–2027 direction through regional dialogue, shared priorities and collective action.

• Pandemic Preparedness Profile (P3)
  Developing a practical framework to assess preparedness, identify gaps and strengthen action across Prevent, Detect and Respond.

• Regional Engagement & Capacity Building
  Strengthening peer learning, coordination and technical support across SEA RCRC National Societies.

• Partnerships & Knowledge
  Expanding collaboration and developing resources to connect expertise, share learning and support preparedness.

• Innovation & Surveillance
  Exploring new approaches to disease surveillance, predictive modelling and regional foresight.
